5 1881 Census Thomas Layfield is no longer at Spring House but at Wath while Mary Layfield wife of George Layfield is now at Spring House.

It says Mary is married but no sign of George Layfield in the 1881 Census.

Lucy Layfield is with her Grandfather Thomas Layfield in Wath.

1891 Mary is still noted as married at spring house but no sign of George.

Grandchildren Silvestor age 8 born Bewerley & Lydia age 2 born Stonebeck Down are with Mary.

1901 Mary now stated as Widow in Spring House. Clara P Layfield single age 30 is with her and 4 Grandchildren Silvester age 18 Lydia age 12 also Margaret A Layfield age 5 born Spring House and Thomas Layfield age 2 born Spring House.

1891 census they are not married. Children in the name of Sykes.
1901 all children now in the name of Lockwood but the GRO Index records show all children as Sykes with middle name Lockwood.
